Colleen Wilson, Board Member

Colleen Wilson was born in Massapequa on Long Island, New York, one of eight children. She and her family moved to Phoenix in 1971 where her large extended family still resides. After graduation from Xavier High School, Colleen attended Mount St Mary’s College in Los Angeles before transferring to Arizona State and earning a BS in marketing.

Colleen married Bob a Minnesota native and fellow ASU graduate and relocated to Minneapolis MN where they spent 28 years. After one too many bitter cold and snowy winters they decided to return to Arizona to be close to family and enjoy more moderate year-round weather. Bob and Colleen had both been to Prescott many years ago and remembered it fondly. After visiting once again in 2018 they decided it was as charming and lovely as they had remembered. They moved to Prescott the following year which they both agree was one of the best decisions they ever made.

Colleen spent most of her career in sales and marketing selling media including print, digital and social media. She retired in 2017 which allowed her to increase her volunteer opportunities. Colleen was very active with The Fiesta Bowl Parade and Cancer Gala in Phoenix and Minneapolis for a number of years. She volunteered for many years with Children’s Crisis Nursery, Breaking Free and Interfaith Outreach in Minnesota. After attending a couple of classes taught by Melissa Ruffner at Yavapai College, Colleen became enamored with the rich history of Prescott which is what lead to her becoming a volunteer at WHC.
