SCHOLARSHIP INFO & ONLINE APPLICATION
Our mission is to preserve and promote the Prescott area’s western heritage through education, art, music, events and projects that enhance its western lifestyle, making Prescott and Yavapai County unique and desirable places to live and visit.
The Prescott Western Heritage Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the availability of two student scholarships. This scholarship aid is intended for deserving students who have a passion for preserving our western heritage, whether through art, music, crafts, rodeo, etc. The student must have a portfolio that includes four examples of their artwork, literature, or craft, or be able to perform music, poetry, or show a video/film to the committee. If the student participates in rodeo, he/she must provide a list of accomplishments pertaining to rodeo participation.
The scholarship will be based on the following:
The scholarship shall be used for college, specific workshops or classes, supplies, etc., as agreed upon by the Foundation, student applicant, and parents/guardians. It shall be good for one year from the date awarded. Proof of completion of classes and workshops must be mailed to the Foundation within one month from the last day of the workshop or class.

The scholarship will be based on the following:
- Student applicant must be a resident of Yavapai County
- Student applicant must be 16-21 years of age
- Student applicant must qualify under one of the following conditions:
- Student is currently studying, creating, and/or has exhibited western art (i.e., painting, sculpture, etc.) or craft (i.e., leather tooling, etc.)
- Student is currently studying, writing, and/or has performed western music at school or at other local venues
- Student is studying literature and has written western short stories, cowboy poetry, etc.
- Student is studying or has completed video/film work which may be historical or western documentary, or story telling in nature
- Student has made significant accomplishments in rodeo or related activities
- Two dated current letters of recommendation from teachers or adults other than relatives
- Student applicant’s brief statement outlining personal goal as an artist, musician, etc., including how student intends to use this financial aid to enable attainment of goal. The application form must be completed by the student applicant and typed/printed in ink .
