William E. Pierce, Board Member

Originally from Mississippi and a graduate of Ole Miss, I moved to Phoenix in 1957 and to Prescott in 1960. Originally in a partnership with Yancy Lewis. The agency did insurance, real  estate and development. We developed the Plaza West Shopping Center on West Gurley and brought the first Fry's to Prescott and Plaza Bowling Alley.

1963 I opened my own Independent Insurance Agency and managed that agency until 1977.
During this time, I became very involved in community events. I was President of Lions Club, Captain Yavapai County Sheriff’s Posse, Captain Yavapai County Sheriffs Reserve, founder of Central Yavapai Fire District and Captain, 4H Leader along with my 4 children being members.

President Yavapai County Fair Association, Chairman Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo for 4 years . Appointed by Governor Castro to the State's Motion Picture Development Commission and was
instrumental in bringing several movies and commercials to be filmed in Prescott. The most notable movie was Junior Bonner with Steve McQueen, Robert Preston and Ida Lupino.

In 1977 moved to Colorado and became involved with an International Insurance Brokerage Firm,
ultimately became President and CEO.

1994 retired and returned to Prescott and in 1995 became the US Bankruptcy Trustee for Yavapai and Mohave Counties. Retired in 2018 and have been a volunteer for the Western  Heritage Center and am honored to be elected to the Foundation Board.

Married and pleased we have 4 children and families still in Prescott in various businesses.
